Unraveling phenotypes in Brazilian patients with cutaneous porphyrias: the impact of next generation sequencing with a targeted gene panel

چکیده
Background: Cutaneous porphyrias are a heterogeneous group of both acquired and genetic disorders whose diagnosis rely on clinical features specific biochemical testing. In Brazil, testing for acute become more accessible in the last years, nevertheless same was not seen cutaneous porphyrias, so most key laboratory performed only abroad, increasing costs analysis. this context, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) became an important tool investigation patients with porphyrias.

Clinical impact of a targeted next-generation sequencing gene panel for autoinflammation and vasculitis
BACKGROUND Monogenic autoinflammatory diseases (AID) are a rapidly expanding group of genetically diverse but phenotypically overlapping systemic inflammatory disorders associated with dysregulated innate immunity. They cause significant morbidity, mortality and economic burden. Here, we aimed to develop and evaluate the clinical impact of a NGS targeted gene panel, the "Vasculitis and Inflamma...
متن کاملGene panel sequencing in Brazilian patients with retinitis pigmentosa
BACKGROUND Retinal dystrophies constitute a group of diseases characterized by clinical variability and pronounced genetic heterogeneity. Retinitis pigmentosa is the most common subtype of hereditary retinal dystrophy and is characterized by a progressive loss of peripheral field vision (Tunnel Vision), eventual loss of central vision, and progressive night blindness. The characteristics of the...

Development and clinical utility of a novel diagnostic nystagmus gene panel using targeted next-generation sequencing
Infantile nystagmus (IN) is a genetically heterogeneous disorder arising from variants of genes expressed within the developing retina and brain. IN presents a diagnostic challenge and patients often undergo numerous investigations. We aimed to develop and assess the utility of a next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel to enhance the diagnosis of IN. We identified 336 genes associated with IN fr...
